The Museum of New Zealand, known locally as Te Papa Tongarewa, is one of Wellington's most popular museums. Filled with a host of artefacts from all over New Zealand, other attractions at the Museum of New Zealand include a large collection of art, multimedia exhibits, hands-on displays for children, temporary exhibitions, research facilities, media libraries, vast cultural collections, state-of-the-art interactive displays, seasonal events, a gift shop and a café area.
